Every 2-3/4” shell in this case of 250 carries a 1-1/8 oz. load of #8 chilled lead shot. #8 shot is most commonly used for range shooting (mostly trap, skeet and sporting clays). It sees use at all levels, from casual recreational shooting to high-level international competition. It isn’t commonly used as hunting ammunition but it can bring down small birds at ranges of 30 yards or less, although care should be taken to remove all shot from the bird. It can also be an effective varmint load at short ranges.
