The Barrett M95 , commonly known as the M95 , is a bolt –action anti-materiel sniper rifle, manufactured by Barrett Firearms Manufacturing since 1995 . It is an improved version of the Barrett M90 .
A manual variant of the M82A1 semi-automatic rifle , this bullpup design rifle is more compact, but with the same length barrel. It can penetrate glazed armor with its .50 BMG (12.7 mm ) bullets.
Despite its size, it falls into the category of handheld rifles.
Changes from the M90
The major difference between the Barrett M90 and its successor is around the grip and trigger which have been shifted 25 mm (1 inch) rearward to facilitate magazine access and handling .
Additionally, the slide has been modified and shifted back and down, the chamber is chrome clad, as well as some minor changes around the trigger and trigger guard.
