Details
This 223 Rem cartridge from Hornady’s Frontier line of ammunition is optimized to give you tack-driving, hair-splitting, gnat-splatting accuracy far, far downrange. If you’re not even sure how precisely your AR can line up a shot, this round will provide the definitive answer!
This cartridge features a 68 grain bullet, which is relatively heavy to give it greater immunity to cross winds in flight. The bullet is even better immunized against wind drift courtesy of its boat tail, which also enables it to hold on to more of its initial velocity the farther it flies from your barrel. It’ll retain 60 percent of its 2,960 fps muzzle velocity at 500 yards! (Do note that a faster barrel twist will generally stabilize a heavier 223 Rem round’s bullet so it can deliver its fullest benefit.)
This round’s bullet has a hollow point, but it’s not designed to promote expansion within soft tissue. Instead, the bullet’s opening indicates that its core was fed through while still molten, subsequently hardening in place. That along with the bullet’s fully jacketed base conveys even more reliable accuracy.
This round features a uniform and supple brass shell casing for dependable feeding and repeated value at the reloading bench. Hornady’s primers are always non-corrosive to preserve your rifle, and their propellant is clean burning to maintain its accuracy during a shooting session.
